Guild Ships Empty
PostSubject: Guild Ships   Guild Ships Icon_minitimeSun Jan 25, 2009 1:45 am

There are three types of main ship , divided into a variety of smaller catagories. Capital Ship, frigates and fighters/others

Capital Ships

Capital ships are at least a minimum of 1 mile long and are charged at starting price 29 million. These are the heaviest ships seen either patrolling the systems or attacking pirate vessels or enemies. There are 8 Ships that are Capital ship in the Guild (Excluding the Shipyard, which is a cross between station and ship and has it's own thread) divided into 2 seperate groups, Dreadnought and Capital Ship

Super Dreadnoughts

Atmospheric Lifter: These huge civilian ships serve as Colony ships for the Guild, Capable of converting into a orbital drydock as well as sending down buildings from Space to Land. These huge dreadnoughts are vital and an organ of the outer guild Colonies that are on the edges of the trade routes.

Neima Super Dreadnought: As part of Slvana's repurposing of budget from administration to research and development this ship is being commissioned for construction with the new vessels, fully armed and staffed, being introduced within the next few years.

Dreadnoughts

(5 miles long and 2 miles across diameter wise, a huge capital ship)

Cora Dreadnought:- The Heaviest and newest ship seen in the Guild, at a starting price of 250 million just to build a unarmed version this ship is not to be underestimated. Rumoured to be named after a fallen hero of the first Guild war, this dreadnought has only just been put into mass production and the first replacement was the GNS Harai. Capable of Carrying 200 fighters and around 5 frigates at one time, this dreadnought main purpose is either a rather efficient attack or system patrol, and especially with 32 gun slots (10 top, 6 on the back, 6 on it's left and on it's right, 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom) this dreadnought is not to be underestimated.

Tria Dreadnought:- Tria's are the attack vessel of the Guild Not seen much in Guild space (Well, the public dominion) very little is known about this ship and many don't get time to scan and retreat. Not available on the market.

Ground Deployment Command Dreadnought:- This new Dreadnought is currently being prepared for commissioning by the Guild Land Deployment Security Force (GLDSF) With no weapons, this dreadnought is completely unarmed, however it's sheilding it almost impregenable from Planetary Guns and missiles. It mainly sacrificed weapons for hanger space so it could fit dropships running around the clock. Although still unconfirmed there is currently a prototype being prepared in one of the military zones for the Inner Forum to look at for commissioning.

Main stream military

(max is 3 miles length and 1 mile width, and that's a harai!)

Harai Battlecruiser:- A large capital ship capable of bombardment of planets and anti-capital ship fire, usually used as a flagship to the task forces. Because of their size and use, only around 20 are actually seen, usually controlled by admirals. These ships are the pride of the Guild Master as he proposed this idea when he was in the Gen Shipyard company and the idea soon took hold with the Guild Commissioning the company for around 40 (maybe more, who knows). The amount of guns seen are pretty powerful (they'd have to be, thinking about it)

Mars Battleship:- The Workhorse of the Guild Military, more seen if a pirate incursion or criminal has been causing too much chaos. These ships are piloted by skilled captains who follow the law, to the T. Many a criminal have tried to outrun or even fight a Mars thinking that being the oldest of the Guild military ship designs that have not changed that they are easy to kill. Funnily Many criminals that think that are then given 60 years Guild service on a Mars. Ironic.

Juni Carrier:- The Carrier of the Guild, Lightly armoured but carrying 100 fighters this ship is a mini police base all in one. The Juni however is not to be underestimated (unless you have a capital ship that is) If given the right berth it can be a nuisance although many a young captain is assigned so the experience isn't that good.

Labule Missile Cruiser:- Out of the two 'Labule' ranges, this ship is mainly used as support by firing all missiles availiable to the Guild, bombarder, missile hunter, you name it, it's there. Every gun slot is a missile launcher and this ship is better at long range and not short. In short it's like sending an artillery to do a soldiers work. It does not work.

Civilian capital ships

There are 2 main ships in this catagory.

Gen Station constructors:- Gen Station Constructors as one trader puts are "the toaster of the Guild Economy" This ship builds stations in space that are used to boost the economy. The Station constructors can also be hired (for a price) to build other freelancers and traders stations, but the prices are quite big as they charge for every trade lane you use that they have to jump. They use Drone Constructors, small drones which use Station components to produce the Station.

HT-23 Heavy Freighters: The large convoy type Transport of the Guild, unarmoured but can carry 6 fighters for escort. These should be escorted with frigates, but it is understandable if they are seen in Heavily secure sectors or with Military convoys with a Station constructor to assist in Station Constructor.[u]

Frigates

Guild frigates are the head of patrol task forces and also for new commanders and support officers. However they serve a more security force when the Guild is at Peace Time and on the borders. Despite this, the Guild deploy Frigates when things become to tense for Capital Ships.

Military

TL-17 'portal Sting':- This is an unarmed frigate sized Missile developed by PorTech and TFL for weakening the enemy, it has it's own portal drive and a missile attached, when entering an enemy system it launches the missile towards a target and destroys the Portal Drive from Launch to prevent reverse engineering. When these things appear, a Guild attack is iminent.

Piam gunship: The Anti Fighter Frigate in the Guild. This vessel is equipped with alot of quick firing weapons, but is prone to overheating and so it is noted that it's good at being support if Fighters break the frontlines.

Tear Torpedo Frigate
: The Tear Torpedo Frigate is the missile frigate it hasn't been seen in action for 100 years because of a health and safety failure when the crew were engrossed in Portal Energies. The guild pulled back all Tear's for immediate inspection, this was 100 years ago, and still there is no breakthrough as the samething happened again and again. After some testing, this vessel now serves a purpose as a GLF vessel and is working well.

Orion Assault Frigate:- This is the older and more reliable Cousin of the Piam, many a guild officer wants to lead this ship or be on it, they get their wish most times. It is mainly able to defend itself in small scale battles and excels at fighter support.

Labule Defence Frigate:- A stealth frigate that is exclusive to TFL's stealth Agents and command forces. Other than that, nothing is known about it's exact details.

Phobos Class Artillery Frigate:- The Phobos is a new ship in military exclusive serivce. Its armed with only a single Phased Ion Cannon, designed to cut though shielding (and eventually, hulls). Because of its lack of armour and any other weapons, the Phobos is more used as a support ship.

Lumarie Gunboat:- This gunboat vessel is mainly seen leading frigate and fighter patrols, a newly commissioned vessel designed by the Gen Shipyard Company and produced at their shipyards, this vessel is also able to refuel fighters if the need arises during a routine patrol. They cannot however repair.

Civilian.

Comm Frigate:- In invasion, these frigates are used to jam enemy communications and act as a Electronic Jammer to enemy commands, in peace they act as relays communicating the different systems if there is a comm failure. It is used by all major companies and military task forces.

MT-17 Medium Freighter:- A Freighter capable of transporting more resources or storing a fighter for protection. These usually serve well as a resupply ship for the Guild patrols, and act as the command ship of many long range frigate patrols.

M-17 Mining Frigate
:- The Guild employ these frigates to mine and survey asteroids for their station mines. These mining frigates tend to have mineral scientists manning it along with an officer.

Fighters of the Guild

Combat Fighters

Guild fighter class vessels come in three main forms, but unlike bigger ships can be more customisable.

G-947-Tatum :- This is the heavy fighter of the Guild, usually the most powerful fighter ship, it is much more slower than the other two but is more equipped with heavier weapons. The three selling types are Vanilla, Bomber and Rapid Reaction (it is noted that Rapid reaction is more faster than the other two but lacks the weaponry, Bomber is slower but is equipped with powerful missile tubes)

G-238 Batum:- this is the light fighter of the Guild, more commonly seen on sector patrols and used by the GSF as their crime fighting vessel. This ship comes in these three forms Vanilla, Patroller and escorter (Patroller has more powerful sensors at the cost of some of the Batum's weapons. Escorter is almost like Vanilla, but can take more sheilds at the extent of firing rates)

The G-78 Scout:- the G-78 scout ship is a new model and is the favourite ship for civilians and soldiers alike. This ship also is favoured by newbie pirates. Until they learn fast why it shouldn't be. The three types are Vanilla, explorer and transporter (Explorer is faster and has more sensors but no weapons: favoured choice by fleets who are about to attack. Transporter has a bigger cargo hold but it is slower and so is favoured by civilians)

The freighters

Freighters in the Guild are the backbone of the Guild economy and destroying one is seen as dishonourable in the eyes of the Guild security forces and the military. And they tend to tell you that displeasure by destroying your ship. These days though Freighters tend to be equipped with a few missile ports and a turret to defend themselves. It does some good, but not much. Anyway, the Freighter also has a equiviliant for transporting various sentinent species around. The Transport.

Freighter (T-89 Freighter) Varients:-
  • Standard (no changes, simple vanilla class)
  • Defender (this has more turrets, more used by weapons corporations to stop their cargo from being raided)
  • Repairer (this ship is more unique, at the expense of ALL of it's cargo hold it is outfitted with repair drones to repair ships.)

Transport (T-86 Transport) varients
  • Military: this is a protected version of the transport that has more turrets. Used as a dropship for boarding.
  • Civilian: This is a standard transport. No changes and none are really needed, is equipped with an FTL for a fast getaway.

Escort Vessels of the Guild

Escorts are ships tasked with a single, highly specialised role - defending other guild ships. They measure somewhere between a Fighter and a Corvette in size, and can clamp themselves using specialised hooks beneth the larger guild vessels for transport as they lack their own Portal Drives.

Anti Fighter Escorts

Demios Class Experimental:- The Demios is a rare but powerful anti fighter weapon - it uses 5 small scale Ion Cannons to lock on and track the target. It is capable of locking on and engaging multiple targets simultaneously (up to 5 of course). It does however suffer from heat issues and reliability problems, which need to be addressed before mass production.
